Andrew Carroll - Director
I’m a proud Geelong native, growing up in a farming family in Paraparap. During my university days at Deakin University, I worked as a bricklayer’s labourer in the local area, gaining valuable insight into the construction industry from the ground up. My formal career in construction began at Hamlan Homes during my fourth year of study, working as an Estimator.
After seven years at Hamlan homes, I gained some broader experience working on residential developments in Melbourne. I happily came home to Geelong to work for Dennis Family Homes for 10 years and then returned to Hamlan Homes, where I served as their General Manager for eight years.
I am passionate about 50’s modernist architecture, rural living, sustainability and disability care. I enjoy the initial energy that sparks from the briefing process with clients and as their build moves through the concept stage. My driving passion, however, is working with our trusted subcontractors and suppliers to see the build come to life.
I am an active participant within Geelong and the local construction community. I am a member of Master Builders, RISE (Regional Industry Sector for Employment), Northern Futures, Building Careers Geelong and GROW Geelong. I enjoy seeing Geelong and the people within our community grow and prosper.

Cara Oliver - Director
Finding my passion for property and construction after a career change, I began working as sales consultant for a small custom builder, discovering I gain immense personal satisfaction in helping people find a home matched to their needs. After a few years, during which the role expanded to include marketing, I joined Andrew at Hamlan in a broader sales role incorporating business development and relationship management.
The role was a perfect blend for my creative and compassionate natures; I managed community relationships with charities and stakeholders and continued my involvement in sales and design.
I also developed a strong passion for housing designed to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Under Care Built, I thrive on finding solutions for clients that are tailored to their accessibility needs.
Inspired by interpersonal connectivity and people’s energy, I find a deep level of fulfilment on handover day with my clients.
